Postcard text: Hey pal ! Finally took that cross- country road trip! Figured, why not now? No other people, I can write this book from anywhere, and half the time I don’t have internet so it’s a win-win-win. It’d be a bigger win if we could go grab a beer and share some fries together, but we can’t have everything, I guess. The guy I’m writing about came out here to explore way back when. Figured I’d take a walk in his very old shoes, though I imagine the terrain has changed since the 19th century. Saw some outrageous wildflowers, though; maybe he did too. I’ll write again at my next destination. A bit scary but mostly fun to not be sure where it is! -Hank
