DONNA ORBITS THE MOON
October 2 – 13, 2019
Wednesdays through Sundays
By Ian August
Directed by Claire Moyer
Performed by Sabrina Profitt
Upstairs at HeadHouse Cafe
122 Lombard Street
Philadelphia, PA 19147
Ordinarily, Donna is pretty grounded: a loving wife, a happy empty nester, and a celebrity on the local bake sale circuit. But lately she’s been a little out of control and folks are starting to notice. A little road rage. An innocent hurling of the vacuum cleaner. She even slapped a woman at the supermarket! Therapy is out of the question and church isn’t the place to share one’s tribulations. How can she retake control? Donna Orbits the Moon is a disarmingly funny, utterly surprising, and ultimately profound journey through motherhood, trauma, reclamation, the Mall of America, and maybe even a space walk with Buzz Aldrin.

JESS AND JOE FOREVER
June 3 – 14, 2020
Wednesdays through Sundays
By Zoe Cooper
Directed by Elaina Di Monaco
Executive Honorary Producer Louis Bluver
Louis Bluver Theatre at the Drake
302 S. Hicks St.
Philadelphia, PA 19102
Spanning several years, Jess and Joe Forever is an unexpected coming-of-age tale that explores what it means to belong, if any of us can. Joe is a farm boy who wears wellington boots. Jess is a city girl who is slightly too chubby for her summer dresses. They are miles apart even when they stand next to each other. But they want to tell you their story: about growing up, fitting in, and maybe even falling in love. A hit of the Edinburgh Fringe, Jess and Joe Forever is a play with wit and heart, about finding your place in the world even when you only know a small corner of it.
Due to the ongoing COVID-19 crisis, this production has been postponed to the 2020/21 season. Read Artistic Director KC MacMillan’s full statement here.
