June 4th 2010 For immediate release US premiere of Abi Morgan’s hit play,“Tiny Dynamite” to be produced at the 2010 Fringe Festival Philadelphia, PA – Kapow Productions are pleased to announce that they will be producing the US premiere of “Tiny Dynamite” by Welsh playwright Abi Morgan at the 2010 Philadelphia Fringe Festival. The production will take place at the second stage of The Adrienne Theatre, 2030 Sansom Street, Philadelphia on September 9th and 12th at 7pm and September 10th, 11th, 16th, 17th and 18th at 9pm. This British play was the hit of the 2001 Edinburgh Festival. It then transferred to great critical acclaim to the Lyric, London in 2003. “Like an old romantic movie that gets you where it hurts, Abi Morgan’s melting theatre piece is about two damaged men and the girl they love, freak accidents and why if you wear rubber boots all your life you will never feel the crackle of electricity in your heart. If you want to live you have to risk dying, and if you want to love you have to risk losing.” – The Guardian. The BBC recently announced at The Cannes Film Festival that the playwright, Abi Morgan, is to write an adaptation of Clare Tomlinsons’ book about Charles Dickens for BBC Films. She is the writer behind the BAFTA award winning BBC drama, “Sex Traffic” and several plays that have been produced in the West End and toured nationally around the UK. The company behind this production (formally known as Stripped Bare Theatre Company) produced another British play, “Dumb Show” by Joe Penhall at the 2009 Fringe festival to great success. The show was directed by Barrymore nominated director Ozzie Jones, was the City Paper’s pick of The Fringe and received positive reviews from The Inquirer and Montgomery News. ### LISTINGS INFORMATION: What: Kapow Productions present Tiny Dynamite by Abi Morgan When: September 9th, 12th @ 7pm, September 10th, 11th, 16th, 17th, 18th @ 9pm Where: Second Stage, Adrienne Theatre, 2030 Sansom Street, Philadelphia Who: Phillip Brown, Emma Gibson and Tom Tansey Tickets: $15, purchase at the door or through the Live Arts and Philly Fringe Box Office www.livearts-fringe.org or by calling 215.413.1318 ### FESTIVAL INFORMATION: The Philadelphia Live Arts Festival and Philly Fringe were originally founded in 1997 as the Philadelphia Fringe Festival.
